What about the lactic acid bacteria in yogurt ? Doesn’t that do any good ?

It does. The problem is how much you’ll be getting.

For the most part, the bacteria in yogurt and lactic acid bacteria drinks are live bacteria. When you eat yogurt, you take in useful, live bacteria (bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria). The metabolites they produce as they pass through the intestines help keep us healthy.

To get those benefits, it’s important to get as many lactic acid bacteria as possible to the intestines on a regular basis. It is thought that we should take in at least 200–300ml per day, although this has yet to be conclusively verified.

But many people find it difficult to eat lots of yogurt and lactic acid bacteria (LAB) metabolites every day. If you’re concerned about health, we recommend LAB metabolites, which give you the metabolites of lactic acid bacteria in their natural form.
